Ideas for creating connection and podcast growth

“How can I grow my listenership?” I dive into that question and share ideas for strengthening your connection with listeners, which is at the heart of podcasting.

In this episode:

You’ll hear five ways to grow your podcast listenership.

  1. Guest on Other Podcasts: Connect with new audiences by guesting on shows within your niche. When listeners hear you as a guest, they may connect with your message and want to explore your podcast as well.

  2. Video Clips on Social Media: If video is your thing, create short clips or reels related to your podcast. Share funny moments, stories, or highlights that align with your show’s vibe.

  3. Social Media Content for Writers & Photographers: If writing or photography speaks to you, use it! Post images and written content that reflects your podcast themes, sparking interest and drawing in your ideal audience.

  4. In-Person Networking: Attend conferences and events related to your show’s niche to connect with potential listeners IRL. A natural connection can make them more likely to check out your podcast.

  5. Promo Swaps: Build relationships with fellow podcasters to arrange promo swaps—a short audio promo for your show that they play on their podcast and vice versa. It’s a quick, engaging way to cross-promote with like-minded audiences.

Remember: Growth is a marathon, not a sprint! Consistency is key. Stick to a regular schedule and update your listeners if there’s a break so they stay engaged and in-the-know.
